Sisters! I have 3 sisters and one winter we all decided we wanted cowhide bags. My youngest sister was pregnant with her first child and requested a cowhide diaper bag, another sister wanted a cowhide backpack and my third sister needed a durable leather bag for her wheelchair. I bought a cowhide and started creating patterns while cutting everything out on the floor. One bag became a second bag and then another and it quickly spiralled into an obsession.

Although I have sewn for myself most of my life it was during my years as a wildland firefighter where I first began creating and understanding prototypes. I was working as a helicopter rappel firefighter and we required some specialized gear bags for the crew and inside the helicopters.

I still work in the helicopter industry and occasionally bring a sewing machine to work to design and a custom piece of equipment.
